PARENT PARTNERSHIP

Parent Partnership

Working together for our children

The importance of a good partnership with parents is essential to complement what is happening in Nursery.

We aim to keep parents informed of their child's progress and ensure that we are always approachable should they have any queries about any aspects of their child's education. Educating children should be a partnership between parents, educators and the children themselves. This is what we aim to achieve.

Settling in Sessions

We believe in making the transition to the nursery from home as smooth as possible. To help the children settle in we offer three settling in sessions.

The first one is an hour long and we encourage parents/carers to stay throughout this time to get to know their child’s key person. This gives them an opportunity to talk about their children’s routines and things that are important to them.

The second session is for two hours and we encourage parents/carers to stay for a while and then leave them. This enables the children to get used to their surroundings and their key person independently.

The third session is for 4 hours and we hope that they will enjoy a meal time with us and a sleep if required.

If your child needs further settles we are happy to arrange this as requested.

Parent Evenings

We facilitate a parents evening twice yearly. This enables parents/carers to meet their child’s key person in an informal way. We understand that working parents, or parents with other siblings are very busy at drop off and pick up times, therefore it is a good opportunity to have a chat regarding your child's progress.
